Katie Jane

Wow, I am so excited!  I just finished my junior year of high school, and am ready for a busy summer!  Basically, I plan on working most of the summer with a week of EFY and (hopefully) a week of Telluride mixed in (hint hint, dad!!!).

This next school year will be my last in Gallup, and believe me, I'm starting to feel the pressure!  I currently go to a charter high school called Middle College High School.  I take classes at the UNM-Gallup branch, and the credits count towards both my high school diploma and my Associate's Degree.  I really enjoy going to the branch, because the format of the classes seems to fit my learning style better.  I'm getting better grades now than when i went to the public high school!

Two of my favorite things to do are play my piano and read.  I am taking piano lessons with a lady here in town, and I am making a lot of progress.  Since it's summer, we decided to back off a little so I'm only working on one piece right now.   My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. (I love the movie, too!)

I have a pet hedgehog named Barbara, Barb or Barbi for short.  You'd think it would be hard to snuggle with a hedgehog, but she's a little sweetie!  Her favorite place to sleep is on my shoulder while i am reading on my bed.  My parents and friends are always teasing me about how much my pet looks like me, but for the record, i cut my hair like this WAY befor i got Barb.

Well, i think that's about it for me. I'm off to snuggle with Barbi!
